Welcome to the new website! I decided it was time to have a refresh to my site and to have a place to share news outside of social media. The site also has an Insights page where I will post some short articles with tips, advice and reflections on the horse world. I’m looking forward to it! I have plenty of opinions and ideas I’d like to share so I thought I’d provide myself a platform to do so. Haha!
The OE crew is in Aiken for the winter season. I arrived at Burkelo Farm on December 18 with 4 horses and the other horses followed a few days later. I left Vermont and the girls got the other horses loaded on the truck with Bateman Horse Transportation before they headed home for Christmas. Thankfully, Maretta and Lesya came to Aiken early to help me with the horses before the other girls joined us. All the horses settled in well. We were met with really cold weather for the first week of Aiken, which was rough, but at least our horses were acclimated to the cold since they had just come down from Vermont! We spent several days chipping ice – something I think I’ve only had to do once before in all of my years in Aiken!
Now, we are very much in training mode. All of the horses are gaining fitness and working toward their individual goals. Check back here for updates from Aiken and other news relating to OE! Cheers!
